Artists

Anna Valeska Pohl
(b. 1985, Regensburg, Bavaria)
the artistic director of bambule.babys, is a performance artist and writer-director working at the intersection of theatre, film, installation and theory. After she had graduated in philosophy and literature, she founded bambule.babys in 2014. Her work focuses on feminist themes and investigates the politics of body and identity.
Puls, Bayerischer Rundfunk (Bavarian Broadcasting) lists Pohl as one of the top five emerging artists, born in Bavaria. Her most ambitious work up to date is her Baby Paradise Trilogy (2018-now) about trauma and taboo. The Guardian (Observer) calls the first part of the trilogy, her solo piece Baby Paradise, a "must-see show".
Pohl's works have been shown in Berlin and at various international festivals, such as the Venice International Performance Art Week, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Los Angeles Underground Film Forum. Pohl has been awarded several grants, including a fellowship as an artist-in-residence at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, USA in 2016. She also works with Guillermo Gomez-Pena's La Pocha Nostra, most recently at the 2019 Paseo Festival, Taos, New Mexico, USA, and was a 2023 La Pocha Nostra artist-in-residence in Mexico City.
In addition, she teaches philosophy, politics and performance and facilitates theater and film projects together with young people.
Pohl has trained in a masterclass for Self-Generated Theater at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, NYC, and holds a Master in Philosophy from the University of Munich.
She lives in Berlin.

is the co-founder and backbone of the collective. He serves as the managing director of bambule.babys, this also includes the production of short films.
