Sister Games - the film

Sister Games
Two prostitutes in a rundown Barbie doll trailer, somewhere in the bleak hinterland: Baby Paradise, the older one, educates the younger one named Cherry in 'daddy pleasing‘ and ‚doll prostitution'. But Cherry wants to be more than a living doll...
Sister Games portrays the sisterlike relationship between Baby Paradise and Cherry. A battle of power develops between the two women who are both trapped in their own traumas.
The film is an intimate punk chamber drama, set in the claustrophobic atmosphere of a trailer filled with Barbie dolls and TV noises. Wild rituals, an uncanny Ken doll and German punk rock are interwoven to an unsettling rite of passage of a young woman.

Sister Games is a feminist (body-based) narrative that follows a non-linear, ritualistic structure. It comments on #metoo and toxic masculinity, without starring one single male character. At its core Sister Games is a film about how we survive trauma.
Sister Games is the third part of Anna Valeska Pohl's Baby Paradise Trilogy which plays with trauma and taboo – inspired by her former relationship with a sex worker.
